2nd Edition! Sacred Stitches: The Art of Care Giving - Tips for Stitching Yourself Together When Caring for Someone with Alzheimer's
Does this sound familiar?
- You go to bed and wake up exhausted.
- You feel overwhelmed all the time.
- You’re stressed out and can’t think.
What you might not know is that I now take care of my 95 year young mom with Alzheimer’s.
My sister was taking care of her but with her health challenges, I had to take over and have mom live with my husband and me.
What helped was that I worked from home. What didn’t work was that I had to change my whole way of doing things. It wasn’t easy. I was overwhelmed and my life and art suffered – freaking out, losing sleep, am I doing the right thing? My time wasn’t my own anymore. I didn’t know how to manage the new change.
I was determined to find a way to take care of mom and have an art filled life with her.
One step at a time, I slowly started to implement a healthy lifestyle of art, laughter and music into my caregiving.
